Howard Gardner is the John H. and Elisabeth A. Hobbs Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He also holds positions as Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Harvard University and Senior Director of Harvard Project Zero. The author of twenty-eight books translated into thirty-two languages, and several hundred articles, Gardner is best known for his theory of multiple intelligences that framed new routes for learning from K to 12 and beyond.

During the past two decades, Gardner and colleagues at Project Zero have been involved in the design of performance-based assessments; education for understanding; the use of multiple intelligences to achieve more personalized curriculum, instruction, and pedagogy; and the quality of interdisciplinary efforts in education. Eugenio Gonzalez is a Strategic Advisor in the Center for Global Assessments of the ETS Research & Development Division. As such, he oversees the IEA-ETS Research Institute – a collaborative effort between the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and the Educational Testing Service (ETS) – and the development of data analysis tools for international large-scale assessments.

He formerly served as the director of operations and quality control for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), and as Director of International Operations and Data Analysis in the International Study Centre (ISC) at Boston College. In this role, he oversaw the development of operations procedures and manuals, scaling, estimating standard errors for complex samples, development of systems for tabular reporting of results, and all other aspects of data analysis and computing for the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS). Eugenio received his Ph.D. in educational research, measurement, and evaluation in 1994 from Boston College. In 1986 he received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.

Roza Leikin is a professor at the Department of Mathematics Education, the Head of the Graduate Program in the Education of Gifted at the Faculty of Education, and the Head of the Interdisciplinary RANGE Center (Research and Advancement of Giftedness and Excellence), University of Haifa.

She is the President of the International Group for Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness (MCG - http://igmcg.org/) and the Head of the National Advisory Committee in Mathematics Education of the Israel Ministry of Education. She has more than 100 scientific publications in refereed journals, edited books and conference proceedings. Her areas of expertise include Mathematics teacher knowledge and education; Mathematics challenges in education, Gifted Education, Mathematical Creativity, Giftedness and relationships between them.

Solomon Marcus is an outstanding scientist and public speaker, with a tremendously diverse and intensive activity, with fundamental and many times pioneering contributions to mathematics, mathematical linguistics, formal language theory, semiotics, education, with an impressive international impact and recognition. Marcus wrote a paper together with Paul Erdős ("Sur la décomposition de l'espace euclidien en ensembles homogènes", Acta Math. Acad. Sci. Hungar 8 (1957), 443–452).

He has published about 50 books in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Greek, Hungarian, Czech, Serbo-Croatian, and about 400 research articles in specialized journals in almost all European countries, in the United States, Canada, South America, Japan, India and New Zealand among others; he is cited by more than a thousand authors, including mathematicians, computer scientists, linguists, literary researchers, semioticians, anthropologists and philosophers.

He is recognizedas one of the initiators of mathematical linguistics and of mathematical poetics, and has been a member of the editorial board of tens of international scientific journals covering all his domains of interest.

Basarab Nicolescu is a Honorary theoretical physicist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Paris, France. Professor at the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Member of the Romanian Academy.
